Wilma was born 01/27/1935 to William and Betty (Wallace) Brown in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Family and friends lovingly called her Janie. After graduation Janie enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she was nicknamed Candy. She served two years and received a National Defense Service Medal. She met the love of her life Kelsie L. Murdock. They married on 06/03/1955 in Prince George County, Maryland. They enjoyed an adventurous, fun-filled life as they traveled the world while Kel continued to proudly serve his country. Upon his retirement in 1969, they settled in Colorado Springs where Candy lived until 2014. Candy was an immaculate homemaker. She had a very feisty and outgoing spirit. Her greatest joy was spending time with the family and friends she adored. She enjoyed golf, pool, bowling, cheering on the Denver Broncos, working puzzles, and she loved eating ice cream as she sat in the sun! She loved butterflies. She was of the Methodist faith. Candy celebrated being a breast cancer survivor. She loved her cousin, Cecilia Seagraves Moses of Lexington Kentucky as her best friend. Candy was legendary to say the least. She had a tenacity that held true her entire life. A very confident, and comical woman, one could never leave her side without a smile or a story to tell. She was amazing. Her legacy will be strong in our hearts forever. She was loved by many and will be missed deeply. Now she flies with the butterflies. Wilma will be laid to rest beside her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver in a private interment. The world is less warm and bright without him. Sandy was born in Denver, CO on January 26, 1938, to parents Malcolm "Mal" and Helen MacDougall. His first car was a 1915 Ford Model T, in which he loved to take people for rides. He graduated from East High School in Denver, and then went to Colorado A&M in Fort Collins to pursue a pre-veterinary degree. While in Fort Collins he met and was absolutely smitten with Phyllis Pomrenke, who would become Mrs. Phyllis MacDougall on December 20th, 1959. Marrying Phyllis was always one of his proudest accomplishments. They moved to Boulder so Sandy could get his law degree. Son Barry was born just before Sandy graduated with his Doctorate of Law. After graduating from CU Law School in 1962 Sandy became a law clerk for The Honorable Judge Jean S. Breitenstein, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Then he took a position with the Denver Water Board before joining the firm at Saunders, Snyder & Ross. Red-haired son Chris was born in June of 1963. In 1967 Sandy took the position of General Council for the Golden Circle Corp. and moved to Colorado Springs. In 1969 Sandy was offered a partnership with Geddes & Sparks. He eventually opened his own private practice, partnering with Juliann Woldridge and Hank Worley. While he truly believed in the Rule of Law, many people have said that Sandy had a great gift of making the law make sense and understandable. Sandy always was a proud part of his community. He was a co-founder of the Southglenn Civic Association and while there he helped found Arapahoe Jr. College. He was the president of the Board of Directors of The Western Museum of Mining & Industry. Sandy was a long-serving board member of Park State Bank and Trust in Woodland Park. The people who worked with him say he was a brilliant thinker, but were equally impressed with his kindness and humility. Everyone who met Sandy liked him. As a real renaissance man...he could talk intelligently about just about anything, and even if he disagreed with you it was still a fun time. He loved to travel and meet people. He figured he could talk with folks from other countries because if they couldn't understand him he could get louder. One of life's troubles was the loss of his youngest son Chris in the Spring of 1987. Sandy loved to sit by the ocean, any ocean, as long as it was warm, and play his ukulele and sing. He loved to sail, having learned mostly through books, and was granted the title "Commodore" by Moorings, Inc. His happiest place was the south shore of Kauai, a little town called Po'ipu, where every evening at sundown he would serenade his neighbors with his ukulele, and they would all gather and sing. Sandy never would utter a negative word about anyone, even in private. He was a man of quiet integrity. He helped people with no expectations of anything in return. He was never pushy but offered wise advice. He influenced and bettered many lives. He will be sorely missed by his many friends, colleagues, and especially his family. He is survived by loving wife Phyllis, devoted son Barry MacDougall, daughter-in-law Maria MacDougall, former daughter-in-law Cindy Moran, granddaughters Heather, Jenny, Heidi, and Maria, and grandson Edgar, and great-grandchildren Chloe, Hartley, Logan, Foster, Rylan, and Tanner. Memorial services will be held at The First Presbyterian Church at 219 East Bijou on Wednesday, April 25th, at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow in the church plaza. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be given to: The Western Museum of Mining and Industry, 225 North Gate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80921. We love you, and we miss you, Forever. ~ And tell Chris hi from all of us. ~Posted:April 22Kelley, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) SMSgt. John Robert Stewart Kelley, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) February 22, 1940 - April 18, 2018 John Robert Stewart Kelley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, age 78, passed away on April 18, 2018 comfortably in his home. John was born to parents, Stuart Robert Victor and Constance Kelly, in Fort Fairfield, Maine on February 22, 1940. John was raised on Vancouver Island, Canada, and graduated from Mount Newton High School. John married Cathleen Loeppky in 1968 and had his only child, Scott, in 1971. John joined the U.S. Air Force in 1961 as a weather forecaster. His tours included Vietnam and Turkey. He served twenty-six years in the USAF and was honorably discharged as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1987. John returned to school after retirement and became a Physical Therapist Assistant. He worked in this second career for fifteen years until 2006 when he retired in Colorado Springs. On his retirement, he explored his creative side, creating stained glass stepping stones and making beautiful glass jewelry, much of which was donated in local charity fundraisers. "My dad always gave of himself. He gave to his country, he gave to the community, to the people he worked with, and above all he gave to his family. He touched many lives, we were blessed to have him. I know I can never be the man he was, but I hope to make him proud," states John's son, Scott. John will be loved and missed by surviving wife, Cathleen; son, Scott (Lisa); and his siblings, Carter (Linda) Kelly, Colleen (Gary Wessel) Kelly, Ian Kelly, and Selena Kelly; along with several nieces. At John's request, there will be no viewing. Services will be held at a later date on Vancouver Island near his childhood home. The family is grateful for condolences, requesting that donations be made to a charity of your choice.Posted:April 22The following vehicle(s) were towed, abandoned and will be placed for sale.
