Dody Glenn R. Dody October 8, 1923 - April 4, 2018 Major Glenn R. Dody, USAF (Ret) passed away in Mesa, Arizona on April 4, 2018, after a short illness. He was born October 8, 1923, in Marion, Kansas to the late Harry & Edna Dody. Glenn was a farm boy, played football and ran track at Marion High School. From 1942-1945, Glenn served his country in the Marine Corps during World War II. He enrolled in college at Eldorado Junior College and later Wichita State University where he qualified for the football team at age 22 for two seasons. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Speech & Physical Education. Glenn joined the US Air Force in 1948 and retired in 1965 as a Major. In 1947, he married the love of his life, Dorothy. They were happily married for 59 years. They had three children: son, Kim Dody; daughter, Rita Eastlack; and son, Jack Dody. He is survived by his children, Rita & John Eastlack, Jack & Marilou Dody; grandchildren: Mathew & Angie Eastlack, Missy & Mike MacGuire, Courtney & Amy Eastlack, Jason Dody, Jerad & Lisa Dody, Amy & Mark Robinson; 12 great-grandchildren: Quincy & Hazel Eastlack, Morgan & Mike MacGuire, Maggie & Katie Eastlack, Becca Dody, Ben & Lily Dody, Jed & Magnus Robinson; siblings: Viola Berhardt, Gail & Sandy Dody, Norma Dody; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Kim; sisters, Doris & Jean; and brother, Don. Glenn & Dorothy resided in Colorado Springs for 25 years. After Glenn retired, they spent winters in California & Arizona. They settled in Mesa, Arizona and Glenn spent 30 years there. We are so thankful for the love and care he received from his niece and family: Jan & Bruce Umhay, Jeremy, Lyndsey & Casey. Glenn was born to be a runner. He started running races in 1978 and completed hundreds of races from 100 meters to half marathons including the Pikes Peak Ascent many times. In 2002, he was privileged to carry the Olympic Torch in Vail, Colorado on the Torch's journey to Salt Lake City. Glen loved God, his family, and his country. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs. Vasquez Roswitha "Rosie" Vasquez July 28, 1948 - April 24, 2018 Roswitha Vasquez, 69, passed away April 24th, 2018. Survived by her loving husband, Rudy Vasquez; sons, Eric Vasquez and Rudy A. The United States Air Force (USAF) has prepared an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) to assess alternatives associated with mitigating Perfluoroctane Sulfonate (PFOS) and Perfluoroctanoic Acid (PFOA) contamination in the drinking water supply wells of the Security Water District, Colorado. The mitigation will protect human health from exposure to PFOS and PFOA in groundwater in excess of United States Environmental Protection Agency lifetime health advisory action levels. The EE/CA will be available for public review for 30 days, ending on June 14, 2018. Upon timely receipt of a request for an extension, the comment period may be extended for a minimum of 15 additional days. The EE/CA considered three alternatives: 1) continue to purchase drinking water, 2) treat the water pumped from contaminated wells using a granular activated carbon system, or 3) treat contaminated well water using an ion exchange system. The recommended alternative is to treat contaminated well water using an ion exchange system constructed by the Air Force. The treatment will remove PFOS and PFOA from the water and thereby enable Security Water District to resume production from its drinking water wells. Fann Gordon Fann May 9, 1952 - May 4, 2018 Gordon Fann, 65, passed into God's care, in the early hours of Friday, May 4, 2018, following a 2-year battle with lung cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Jeannie (Weidanz) Fann who was by his side, in their Tucson, AZ home, where they had moved 6 months ago. He also leaves behind 2 sisters, Marlene Jensen of Lockhaven, PA, and Gloria Ginn of L.A., CA. Preceding him in death were his parents, Sylvia Burch of Roundup, MT, Ben Fann of Cookeville, TN, and brother, Harold Fann of Dickson, TN. Gordon was born in Delta, CO, and grew up in Castle Rock, CO. Gordon was a well-respected commercial HVAC professional in the Colorado Springs and Denver area. His life-long love of writing music and playing his many guitars gave him many hours of true enjoyment. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at a later date in Monument, CO, where he and his wife of nearly 29 years, lived for 23 years. Offutt Elsie F. Offutt April 15, 1928 - May 11, 2018 Elsie F. Offutt, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, Friday, May 11, 2018. Elsie was born in Victor, Colorado and spent most of her adult life in Colorado Springs. She married the love of her life, Bob L. Offutt on November 28, 1952 in Cheyenne, WY. They settled in Colorado Springs in the early 1950's, where they raised their three children: Billy, Bobby and Jerry. She loved to crochet and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elsie was the beloved wife of the late Bob L. Offutt, who preceded her in death. Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons: Billy (Shannon), Bobby, and Jerry (Kay); her grandchildren: Alisha, Jeremy, Josh, Nick, Eric and Kristina; 10 great grandchildren and many friends. Visitation will be Monday, May 21st, 11a - 2pm at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs. Funeral Services will begin at 2pm with a reception following the service. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Gann Gladys Nadine Gann April 6, 1930 - May 3, 2018 Gladys Nadine Gann 88, passed away, May 3, 2018, at her home in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Born April 6, 1930 in Brewster, Kansas, to the late William and Mary Meyer. Gladys was an active member of her Church. A proud Grandma she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cross stitch and making quilts for her family. Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved Husband of 48 years, Billy W. Gann, cherished grandson, Garrick A. Lackey; and her sister Johanna Miller. Burton James L. Burton May 23, 1958 - May 10, 2018 James L. Burton, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away May 10, 2018, in Los Angeles, California. James was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, May 23, 1958. After graduation he attended the Colorado Institute of Art. He worked as a graphic designer and real estate broker before moving to California. While in California he pursued his passion to develop a higher spiritual awareness and in 2016 graduated from the University of Santa Monica with a Master in Spiritual Psychology. He was an active member of MSIA-Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. MSIA is to teach Soul Transcendence, which is becoming aware of yourself as a Soul and as one with God. James was a sweet and lovely soul that enlightened and delighted everyone he touched. All were drawn to his light-hearted, witty and fun-loving nature. He enjoyed art of all kinds and was creative and artistic on his own merit. He had a gift that made you feel special and loved and that was a gift to us from him. His kind spirit will live with us always. Preceding him in death were his father, Charles M. Burton and his older brother, Robert M. Burton. He leaves behind his loving mother, Betty M. Burton-Dumler, three sisters, Barbara J. Bennett, Diana S. Collins, and Donna M. Gissel, nephews, Keegan, Kris, Matt, Jeff, nieces, Leslie, Carrie, Julie, Mindy and Amie. He had many more relatives and wonderful friends. Family and friends were cherished and loved and were so very important in his life. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, May 24 at 11:00 am at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs.

Jury Patti Sue Jury January 16, 1964 - May 6, 2018 Patti Sue Jury, age 54, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, surrounded by her family. Patti was born on January 16, 1964 and is survived by her parents, George and Phyllis Jury; her sisters, Tami (Cal) Cherrington, Lori (Ken) West, and Jill (Max) Guetz; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her brother, George. Patti was a graduate of Wasson High School. Her favorite sports were volleyball and basketball. She also participated in track. Following graduation, Patti received a Sports Medicine Certification. She moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado and served as a Security Guard for the Sheraton Hotel and worked as an Office Assistant for B&K Distribution. Upon moving back to Colorado Springs, she became a successful Real Estate Appraiser. Her real passion for animals led her to start a Pet Sitting business, which she continued until her death. Patti was an avid fisherwoman and loved boating, camping, and the outdoors. She and her father went canoing at the boundary waters in Canada. She was affectionately known as "Knucklehead, Patti" to her nieces and nephews. Rochelle Thomas "Tom" Michael Rochelle May 8, 1959 - May 9, 2018 Our beloved father, husband, and friend, Thomas Rochelle, unexpectedly passed away at home, age 59. Tom was a long-time Colorado Springs resident, raised in Casper, Wyoming. He leaves his mother, Rita Rochelle; wife, Christina; daughters, Kathryn, Mary, Jenna, and Rita. Tom's family treasures his gentleness, resilience, persistence, optimism, hard-work, integrity, respect, kindness, compassion, and silly jokes. Tom lived with epilepsy courageously; earning a college degree, marrying his college sweetheart, lovingly raising children, biking through sunshine and snow, working with the disabled community, and joyfully caring for the people in his life.
