  • May 25 - INVITATION TO BIDDERS Project No: CO06PO28501-14-1 and CO06PO28501-14-2 Bid proposals will be received by the Housing Authority of the City of Colorado Springs, 335 South Wahsatch Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, up to 10:00 a.m., June 17th, 2015, for the exterior modernization of 10 scattered sites located in the City of Colorado Springs. Two separate bid proposals will be required: (Amp 1) 3660 Brisbane Dr., 7325 Aspen Glen Lane, , 5890 Pemberton Way, 1819 Palm Dr., 2070 Rimwood Dr., 5465 Trout Creek Pass Dr., 1815 Westmoreland Rd., 3880 Beltana Dr., and (Amp 2) 1930 Preuss Rd. and 2770 Monica Dr. W. Bids must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders, Form HUD 5369, October, 2002, as issued by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, Low Rent Housing. Bidders may obtain electronic copies of the Specifications and Bid Documents at the office of the Architect, 5315 Germaine Ct., Colorado Springs, Colorado. Attention is cited to the provisions for equal payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Project Manual (Davis-Bacon Act). Minority and female owned businesses are encouraged to participate in this project. This project is governed by Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended. 12 U.S.C. 1701u, requiring to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment be given to lower income residents of the area and contracts be awarded to business concerns located in or owned in substantial part by persons residing in the area of the project. All work is to be completed within 120 days after the date of the Notice to Proceed. Bids that exceed the amount of $25,000 must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Cashier's Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the Housing Authority of the City of Colorado Springs, or by Bid Bond in a like amount on the form supplied in the Bid Documents, executed by a Surety Company. No bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the scheduled date for receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities.
