  • March 29 - NOTICE OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT For the Colorado Springs Airport Land Release NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved a Final EA and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Colorado Springs Airport proposed land release. The purpose of this notice is to announce the availability of the documents for review. The Proposed Action includes the release of approximately nine and a half (9.5) acres of Colorado Springs Airport property from federal obligations. This would allow the Colorado Springs Airport to sell the property for the construction of the Marksheffel Road South Corridor Improvement Project. The Final EA and FONSI found that the project is consistent with existing environmental policies and objectives as set forth in the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and will not significantly affect the quality of the human environment. The FAA issued a Section 106 finding of a No Historic Properties Affected for the project. The Proposed Action will result in permanent wetland impacts of 0.22 acres and temporary impacts 0.02 acres.
