Brunskill Blakely Katharine Maud (Muller) Brunskill Blakely September 27, 1941 - January 26, 2018 Katharine Maud Muller Brunskill Blakely made her transformation on January 26, 2018. She is survived by her son, John Brunskill and his wife Jill, and son Andrew Braumann, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her loving stepchildren and their children (and grandchildren); Greg Blakely and Chelle Eastman, and sons Paul and Alan Blakely; Leslie and Sy Gilliland, and daughters Kasha (Oakley, Parker, Liam, Mathis) and Lindsey (Kade, Krew); Kate Blakely and daughter Mattie Stubbe. She also leaves behind two sisters; Susan Morris (John) of East Corinth, Vermont; and Mardy Nelson Harrold (Tom) of Boulder, Colorado; and a brother, Mark Muller (Emalea Miller) of Lawrence, Kansas. Nieces and nephews abound, and also their children: Andy Morris (Mary Moore) with Gibson and Samuel; Rebekah Morris; Hannah Morris; Jacob Schroeder (Rachel) with Tate, Quinn, and Lily Kate; the Rev. Mary Kate Rejouis with twins John and Elizabeth; Jesse Nelson; Grant Muller (Danielle) with Charlie Von; Cameron Muller; Andy Jenkins (Liz) with Finn and Cole; and Allison Muller (Nathan Teachout, engaged). Loved ones preceding Katharine in departure were many, and begin with her wife and partner of 27 years, Donna Blakely. They enjoyed a long and loving relationship together in Colorado Springs. Katharine was born on September 27, 1941 to the Rev. Frederick B. Muller and Mary Delano Muller in Mandan, North Dakota, but grew up in Fremont, Nebraska, the eldest of 5 siblings. Both parents and a brother, John Frederick Muller, preceded her into eternity. Katharine generously poured her energy into a career as a teacher, with the majority of those years dedicated to first graders. She was loved by her students and their families and remained close to many of them. She played the baritone ukulele and sang to all her pupils, with a great repertoire of songs and hymns that she will be remembered for. In retirement, she and Donna were able to travel to England, Ireland and Alaska together, among other places, and their lives with one another were enriched with the community of Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs. As an avid reader and researcher, Katharine was a student of theology, and also made great strides delving deep into and recording the genealogy of her family. After Donna's death in early 2015, Kath ("Kate," to many of her friends in Colorado) downsized from their home into an apartment in the Springs. Having discussed it with Donna as something they might do together in retirement, she began to investigate opportunities for service with L'Arche International, an organization committed to community congregate living for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults. After many conversations and much discernment, she was accepted into the Heartland chapter of L'Arche in Overland Park, Kansas. Relocating there, she spent the last 9 months of her life living with and caring for her new and very special family of core members and assistants among five houses in Overland Park, living herself in "Harmony House," a name she thought so appropriate. This put her very close geographically to her brother Mark, and she spent much of her weekend time, when away from her responsibilities at Harmony House, with him and Emalea at their home. Katharine touched many lives during her own, was a mentor to all her siblings, and her legacy is one of peace, compassion, and simplicity. The Rite of Burial and Holy Eucharist will take place on Saturday, May 5 at 1pm at Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs. Katharine's ashes will be placed in the memorial garden with Donna's at this time. A reception will follow. Bring your ukulele. Fortner Mary Jane (Patterson) Fortner May 11, 1925 - March 23, 2018 Our mom, age 92, born in North Baltimore, Ohio to Agnes and Marion James Patterson, passed away in her sleep while on an extended stay with her daughter in Oregon. Mary Jane was a home maker, and a very proficient dental tech., assisting her husband at Fortner Prosthetics Service for many years. She loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, crafting, and hunting. We miss you mom....RIP. Jane is survived by six children; Michael Fortner (Janet), Connie Mount, Cathy Martin (Tom), Rick Fortner (Kathy), Mark Fortner (Pam), and Charity Blaser (Eric), 21 Grandchildren, 38 great- grandchildren, and 2 great, great, grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Fortner, and seven children. A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, in Black Forest, on May 26th. Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11, and reception immediately after in the church hall. Burial will take place in Oregon, next to her husband Richard.

Graham, M.D. Arthur D. Graham, M.D. December 16, 1932 - April 16, 2018 Dr. Art Graham died of respiratory failure on April 16, 2018, at the age of 85. His family was at his side in UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, reading scripture and singing his favorite hymns. The son, of Roy Arthur Graham and Velma Treva Nunnelly, Art was born in Pueblo, Colorado on December 16, 1932. He attended Pueblo's Lincoln Grade School and Keating Junior High, and graduated from Central High School in 1950. Art worked at the Pueblo Steel Mill from 1949 - 1953 and attended Pueblo Junior College after finishing high school. In the spring of 1951 he met Myrna Loy Beck, a student nurse at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. Art and Myrna were engaged in September of 1952, and they were married, in Pueblo, on December 19, shortly after Myrna's graduation from nursing school. In the first two years of their marriage, Art completed pre-med studies at Denver University, while Myrna worked as a registered nurse at Children's Hospital. Art was a medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine from 1954 - 1958, and Myrna served as an Operating Room Nurse at the Denver Veterans' Hospital. Art entered the Army after completing a surgical internship at the University of California Hospital in San Francisco. He served as an Army physician for over nine years, many of those in the Panama Canal Zone. Art attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and earned the Army Commendation Medal. After his honorable discharge in 1968, Art and Myrna returned to Colorado, where Art joined the Pueblo Radiological Group. Art and Myrna were called to Tampa, Florida in June of 1972, where Art served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and as Chief of Radiology Services at the Tampa VA Hospital. After twelve years in Tampa, Art was called to the Central Offices of the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. He became Director of VA Radiology Services, then Deputy Director of Operations. During his seven years at the VA Central Offices (1984 - 1991), Art also served intervals as Acting Chief Medical Director and Acting Medical Inspector. Art's final assignment with Veterans Affairs was Chief of Staff at the VA Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. After Art retired in 1994, he and Myrna again returned to Colorado, this time to Colorado Springs. They joined the Central Christian Church, where Art served as Elder for several years. Art Graham is survived by his wife and three daughters: Sandra Loy Graham, a physical therapist at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage; Cynthia Graham Brittain, a Chemistry Teaching Professor at the University of Rhode Island; and Cheryl Leigh Graham, a Special Education Severe Service Needs Paraprofessional at Explorer Elementary School in Colorado Springs. Art is also survived by three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Private Inurnment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Veteran's Honor Court Columbarium.

McPherson Charles Buchanan McPherson March 3, 1941 - March 31 201 Charles Buchanan McPherson, age 77, passed away on Saturday, March 31 2018 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Charles (Chuck) was a wonderful father to his sons, and was a devoted grandfather to his 4 grandchildren. Chuck was a steadfast friend to many other people in his circle of acquaintances. These included his past colleagues, his lunch and breakfast buddies, the neighborhood folks both current and also with those that have moved on to other locations over the years. He was born on March 3, 1941 in Colorado Springs to his mother, Jane and his father, William S. McPherson Jr. who are both deceased. Growing up in the Springs he attended various District 11 schools graduating in 1959 in the last class to go through the Colorado Springs High School - now Palmer High School. He then attended the Colorado State College - now the University of Northern Colorado - where he earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. After graduation Chuck returned home to the Springs where he worked in various capacities for CIG, Job Service of Colorado, started a private employment firm, and then worked with Excell Consulting until retiring. Upon retirement he dabbled in a variety of roles including Medicare Sales that fed his desire to work with and help people and establish more professional relationships. He married Jean Kathryn McPherson (Sanderson), in October, 1963 in Colorado Springs. They then made their home in Colorado Springs and were involved in many sectors of the local scene both professionally and philanthropically. Charles McPherson is survived by his son, Shawn McPherson of Colorado Springs; his son, Kevin McPherson and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth McPherson of Woodland Park; and his beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by Jasper, who is now part of a larger pack in Woodland Park, and the memories of countless pets who are surely happy to see him again... Especially if he is feeding them from the table. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2018 for Chuck, with the date and location to be determined.
