Cheyenne Mountain graduate Canyon Barry is headed to the New York Knicks for the summer.

Barry tweeted that he will play for the Knicks during their summer league basketball tournament in Orlando, Fla.

“Super excited for the opportunity to play for the New York Knicks in summer league! Let's get to work!” he tweeted.

The 6-foot-6 guard just finished helping Florida reach the Elite Eight at the NCAA Tournament. In 35 games with the Gators this season, he averaged 11.4 points, shot 33.6 percent from 3-point range and averaged 2.8 rebounds.

Barry, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, graduated from Cheyenne Mountain in 2012. After that he redshirted as a freshman, then played three seasons at the College of Charleston (from 2012-13 to 2015-16) before graduating from CoC and transferring as a graduate student to Florida.

In his senior year with the Gators, he was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year and named CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year, the top academic honor in the country, according to Florida's website.

The NBA's summer league in Orlando tips off July 1. The Knicks will play Dallas that day.

Barry was not picked in Thursday's NBA draft.
