CICERO, N.Y. (AP) — More than 40 hotel guests spent some time outside in the cold in suburban Syracuse after a burst pipe caused a ceiling collapse in the hotel lobby.
Local media report that the Comfort Suites in Cicero was evacuated shortly after 9:15 Saturday night. An ambulance was called as a precaution but no injuries were reported.
Hotel workers say guests were allowed to return to their rooms after personnel from National Grid, the fire department and the local codes enforcement office went through the building to make sure it was safe. A plumber repaired the burst pipe.
