UPDATE: Sayre Thomas was acquitted April 24, 2015 of the charges.

A 21-year-old Colorado College student was arrested Monday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female student, according to court documents and a security notice emailed to Colorado College students, faculty and staff Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, Sayre Thomas, has been released from jail on bond, and is not allowed on campus without a campus safety escort, according to the notice and court documents.

Colorado College spokeswoman Leslie Weddell said Thomas has been suspended.

The alleged assault happened in campus dormitories last week, according to the email, which also stated that Thomas was an acquaintance of the victim. According to the email, another victim has also been identified, but Colorado College officials did not provide additional details.

Court documents indicate that Thomas is charged with one felony count of sex assault in a situation where the "victim is incapable of appraising the nature of his or her conduct."

Anyone who sees Thomas on campus without an escort is asked to call The college's campus safety department at 389-6911.
