The intersection of Carmel Drive and Monterey Road was opened after a brief police investigation Friday morning.
Colorado Springs police had closed the road after an officer was flagged down in the area and told there may be a man with a gun inside one of the nearby homes. Shortly after, the man in question walked out of a home and talked to officers, police said.
The man was not armed.
The road has been reopened and several nearby schools are no longer on precautionary lockout status.
