A carjacker held a woman at gunpoint Friday and then used her car in a bank robbery minutes later, Colorado Springs police said.

At 4:54 p.m., a woman reported that an armed man wearing a black ski mask stole her black Toyota Corolla on Mira Linda Point, near the intersection of Woodmen Road and Rangewood Drive.

'The armed suspect approached her from behind, taking her by surprise, ' police said.

Four minutes later, police received a report of a robbery in progress at Key Bank, 3065 Hartsel Drive. An armed man wearing a black mask, camouflage top and blue jeans stole an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a black Toyota Corolla, apparently the same car stolen minutes earlier and within a half-mile, police said.

The Corolla has Colorado plate 995-UOA. Police advise anyone who sees the vehicle not to approach it, but to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call 444-7539 or 444-7851.
