A cargo plane slid off a runway at the Colorado Springs Airport Wednesday, caused by a mechanical malfunction, according to airport officials.
John McGinley, assistant director of operations and maintenance, said the incident happened at 8:30 a.m. when the airplane's brakes locked up and the mid-sized Swearingen Metroliner slid onto the grass.
"There were no injuries and mechanics are on site pulling the aircraft back onto the runway," McGinley said.
The cargo plane was occupied by a pilot, McGinley said, who was not hurt.
McGinley said the incident did not cause any delays to other flights.
