Investigators found a vehicle Wednesday believed to be connected to a double homicide Saturday in Black Forest.

Colorado Springs police officers found the red 2002 Honda Civic and notified El Paso County sheriff's deputies of the discovery shortly before noon Wednesday, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies suspect Kenneth Lankford stole the vehicle, though details off the theft have not been released, nor have deputies said how it relates to the killings.

Lankford was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting deaths of Terry Lankford and Carol Fowler in their Black Forest homes, which are about five miles apart. Deputies also suspect he shot Fowler's husband, Thomas Fowler, who is expected to survive.

Lankford remained held without bond Wednesday in the El Paso County jail.
