Dan Jackson, better known to Colorado Springs radio aficionados as Captain Dan, has returned to the local scene. After almost a year long absence, the Captain’s ship has returned to port, this time at Peak FM (92.9). Jackson made the announcement via his Facebook page this morning.

“I am humbled and frankly taken aback by the outpouring of good will and encouragement I’ve received in response to a simple status change on Facebook. Wow!” said Jackson on Facebook. “This is the perfect fit for me, an opportunity to be on one of the hottest stations in the city, a couple days a week! To work alongside an incredibly talented group of men and women, many of whom I’ve known for years and share my passion to be involved in our community! My personal thanks to all who’ve lifted me up these past months and reminded me that I still have much to offer!”

Captain Dan has been a fixture on a local airwaves for decades. Along with his longtime partner, the late Paul Richards, the pair had won the Best of the Springs Radio Personality Award so many times they were given a lifetime achievement award by the Gazette in 2010. Jackson, along with partner Tammy Oakland, won the Best of the Springs Radio Personality silver medal in 2017 before his departure from iHeartMedia in May the same year.

You can listen to Captain Dan on Peak-FM on Saturday and Sunday mornings after 6 a.m. However, Jackson also hinted that he has more news to share in the coming weeks.
