The 16-year-old girl is reportedly a victim of sexual assault, according to Cañon City law enforcement. A press release issued by the Cañon City Police Department states that the teen ran from her home to a neighbor's house and the neighbor called 911 Sunday night. CCPD arrested Jaacob Vanwinkle, 31, without incident at the home. Vanwinkle is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to be formally charged. He faces three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of sexual assault charges and kidnapping.
