UNEMPLOYMENT:
While the unemployment rate has been generally improving in recent years across the state, a look at the county-by-county rate shows that the state is not as well as off as it was in 2000.

Unemployment rate

The Colorado Springs area jobless rate started out nearly the same as Colorado’s in 2000, but rose higher than the state’s during the recession and has recovered more slowly.
