Even a team trying to build its roster for a Super Bowl run, there is room for youth.
The Broncos released veteran running back Lance Ball on Friday, making way for undrafted rookie C.J. Anderson.
Ever dependable during his three seasons with the Broncos, Ball was classy till the end.
"Closing another chapter in my book, thanks to the Broncos organization for the years of great memories and also the fans who supported me!'' Ball wrote on his Twitter account.
The Broncos also waived receiver Gerell Robinson, linebacker Damien Holmes, defensive end John Youboty and cornerback Aaron Hester. The Broncos hope Robinson and Youboty clear waivers so they can be placed on their eight-man practice squad. The waiver period doesn't expire until Sunday.
