BOULDER — Boulder wildlife officials are declaring victory and canceling a program of hazing coyotes to keep them away from humans.
The hazing program earlier this year included daily patrols by people who yelled, shook cans with metallic objects inside and threw tennis balls at coyotes to make them wary of people.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera (http://tinyurl.com/nxghwm6 ), wildlife officials became concerned after several aggressive coyotes were reported. In one instance, a 5-year-old boy was chased and bitten by a coyote, prompting state wildlife officials to shoot two of the animals.
