BOULDER — The city of Boulder and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office are closing Boulder Creek to swimmers, kayakers and tubers for flood debris cleanup.

The closure runs from Boulder Falls in the county to Boulder's eastern city limits.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera (http://tinyurl.com/lgvfs5e), authorities are worried about hazards from debris and construction equipment.

Boulder City Manager Jane Brautigam issued an emergency rule that makes using the creek during a closure a municipal violation with a fine of up to $1,000 and up to 90 days in jail.
