GRAND JUNCTION — Deputies are investigating whether a body found in the desert north of Grand Junction is that of a woman reported missing on Tuesday.

A passer-by reported finding the body Thursday afternoon.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (http://tinyurl.com/k6fhxqm) Mesa County sheriff's deputies are investigating whether the body is linked to the disappearance of 54-year-old Kathleen Lynn Stetzel.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Heather Benjamin said it wasn't immediately clear if the body was a man or woman.
