El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa released all areas of Black Forest from pre-evacuation status according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office shortly after noon Monday.

Lt. Jeff Kramer said the all-clear came in light of the efforts and progress of firefighters to locate and control hot spots within the interior of the Black Forest fire.

"Although the evacuation status has been removed, residents in Black Forest as well as communities throughout unincorporated El Paso County are asked to remain vigilant in fire prevention and reporting," Kramer said.
