YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Workers at Yellowstone National Park have killed a black bear that was getting into human food at a campground.
Park staff killed the bear on Saturday evening.
Earlier in the day, the 142-pound male bear had come within about 6 feet of a man and woman who were eating in the campground. The bear ate some of their food when the campers backed off.
Rangers responded and hazed the bear out of the campground. They shot and killed it when it came back into the campground at about 9 p.m.
