Authorities raided a marijuana grow Friday in El Paso County and discovered 38 large marijuana plants, more than 20 pounds of refined marijuana packaged for distribution, two rifles and $4,000 in cash, Colorado Springs police said.
The search warrant was executed in the 5400 block of Slocum Road as part of an ongoing marijuana investigation, police said.
The Metro Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Division has received eight tips in the past year through the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers about tenants growing marijuana in this residence, police said.
While searching the home, authorities "discovered an outbuilding that had been converted into a fully functional marijuana grow operation," police said.
Metro VNI detectives worked with the Sheriff's Office's SWAT Team and Rural Enforcement and Outreach Unit to execute the search warrant, police said.
No arrests have been announced.
