AURORA — Aurora Police say a woman was pulled over by a man who appeared to be impersonating an officer and grabbed her hair when she questioned his identity.

The woman tells police a black sedan with a flashing red light pulled up behind her the night of March 31, and a man in uniform-style clothing walked up to her window and told her she was speeding.

When she noticed he had no badge or patches, she asked for his badge number. She says the man then grabbed her hair and tried to pull her keys from the ignition, but she punched him in the face and he fled.

Police reported the incident Wednesday.

An investigation is underway. Police say the woman didn't see a front license plate on the black sedan.
