A man refused to hand over his cash to a would-be robber who threatened him at gunpoint Sunday in northwest Colorado Springs, according to police reports.

The victim had just used the Red Box at the Walgreen's on 6820 Centennial Blvd., near Flying W Ranch Road, about 8 a.m., when a dark-colored Honda with temporary tags pulled up next to his car, police said.

A passenger of the Honda got out and demanded the victim's money, but the man refused, at which point the robber pulled out a handgun and demanded money again, according to police.

After arguing for a moment, the armed man got back in the Honda and the vehicle fled southbound on Centennial Boulevard, police said.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
