Colorado Springs police are searching for a man suspected of holding his girlfriend at gunpoint and beating her to the point of breaking her arm.
Michael Casados, 30, was identified by police after an assault investigation Tuesday.
Around 4:30 p.m. officers responded to the 1300 block of Rainier Drive regarding a domestic disturbance, where witnesses reported they saw a man beat a woman outside a home. The bystanders told police the woman was bloody and visibly injured when the man forced her into a car, then left together.
During the investigation, police received a call from Memorial Hospital regarding an assault linked to the address where the disturbance began and officers contacted the victim.
The 25-year-old woman said her boyfriend, Casados, allegedly beat her with a handgun, punched and kicked her repeatedly. Police reported the suspect hit her severely enough to break her arm and cause various injuries.
After the beating, the victim told police Casados forced her into his vehicle and released her near the 2100 block of Delta Drive, north of Hancock Expressway.
Casados is described 5-foot-7 and about 200 pounds with a shaved head.
