Aspen Snowmass lift operator dies from ski accident

A 47-year-old male Snowmass lift operator died Thursday while skiing in the Cirque Headwall at Snowmass, Aspen Skiing Co. said Friday.

The cause of death is undetermined.

According to a press release issued at 6:47 a.m. Friday, “Snowmass Ski Patrol was called at 1:50 p.m. by another skier. The man was unconscious and unresponsive when Patrol arrived at the scene. They began advanced life saving procedures and continued their efforts as he was transported to a waiting ambulance. The man was a skier and was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.”
