Broncos preseason finale: Three things to watch against Arizona

1. Grooming for Brandstater

Most likely, either Kyle Orton or Chris Simms will play through painful injuries in the opener next week. But, if not, rookie Tom Brandstater will be on the spot. He has a chance to build off his solid performance against Chicago when he gets the start tonight.

2. Turbulence via air

The Broncos must be wondering what is happening to their pass defense. Seattle’s Matt Hasselbeck and Chicago’s Jay Cutler had nice days against Denver the past two weeks. Arizona has one of the best pass offenses in the NFL.

3. Who will earn a spot

This is the last chance for bubble players to win jobs. Last year Spencer Larsen solidified his spot with a great game against Arizona. That seems to happen to a player or two every year, and the coaches will be paying attention for any last-game standouts.
