Broncos at 49ers, 8 p.m. today, CBS, 107.9 FM

Three things to watch in tonight's game

1

All eyes will be on quarterback Kyle Orton as he makes his first appearance in a Broncos uniform. He didn’t perform well in last week’s scrimmage and hasn’t had a great camp, but can ease some concerns with a good debut tonight.

2

A new coordinator (Mike Nolan), a new scheme (3-4) and many new players (Andre Goodman, Renaldo Hill, Andra Davis, Ronald Fields, Robert Ayers, to name a few) will be on display for the Broncos defense tonight. A lot of pressure is on that unit to improve from 2008.

3

All of Denver’s rookies should get plenty of playing time, coach Josh McDaniels said. None will be watched closer than the top pick, running back Knowshon Moreno. Moreno has looked good in practice and can continue his rise up the depth chart with a good performance tonight.
