Salt Lake's Trevor Bell pitched a complete game two-hitter to outduel Franklin Morales and help the Bees defeat the Colorado
Springs Sky Sox 1-0 on Tuesday in Salt Lake City.
Sky Sox designated hitter Matt Murton singled to lead off the second inning, extending his hitting streak to 24 games. Christian Colonel had the other hit, a single in the ninth.
Bell, who was making his first apperance since being called up from Double-A Arkansas, didn't surrender a walk but hit Colonel with a pitch in the sixth inning. Bell (1-0) also had four strikeouts.
Morales (0-2) gave up one run on five hits in 61/3 innings. He struck out three and walked three.
Salt Lake scored the game's lone run in the seventh on a sacrifice bunt by Adam Pavkovich.
Morales walked Matthew Brown to start the inning. Brown then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt to chase Morales.
A wild pitch by Sky Sox reliever Scott Munter with Pavkovich at the plate allowed Brown to reach third.
