Rock and rollers Los Lobos will headline this year's Blues Under the Bridge on July 7 in Colorado Springs.
The daylong concert, now in its 12th year, features blues and rock bands performing under the bridge at 218 W. Colorado Ave. It has been designated a signature event by the Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority.
Tickets - $50 for 91.5 KRCC members, $60 for general admission and $100 for VIP seating - go on sale April 1 at bluesunderthebridge.com and eventbrite.com. Day-of tickets will be $65 at the gate, pending availability.
Los Lobos, a popular East L.A.-based band, is known for its Tex-Mex, Latin rock and zydeco flavor. The group recorded "La Bamba" and five other songs for the 1987 film "La Bamba."
The Chris Thomas King Band, a blues outfit, also will perform, along with Kerry Pastine and The Crime Scene, Grant Sabin and The Juke Joint Highball, and Vegan Wolf.
The festival is made possible by 91.5 KRCC, Colorado College's NPR-member station, and other nonprofits and businesses. Bristol Brewing craft beer and local food vendors will be on hand. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs.
