An explosive device found Saturday near Fountain Creek was a real Claymore anti-personnel mine, Fountain police said Monday.
A citizen found the device shortly after 6 p.m. and brought it to police. After it was determined to be real, Fort Carson military police took over the investigation.
Fountain police urged citizens to never touch a suspicious device, but to contact police immediately.
