Police and towers worked for more than an hour to pull a car out of a creek after a driver went off the road early Saturday.

The crash happened a little after 7 a.m. on Highway 24 just east of 21st Street. The driver ended up down an embankment into Fountain Creek and surrounding brush. Police said he only suffered minor injuries and was able to call for help himself after the crash.

At last report, the car had been pulled out of the water but was not yet out of the embankment.

A police sergeant tells 11 News the crash is still under investigation, including whether the car went airborne and landed in the creek or drove down the embankment.
