Colorado Springs fire crews knocked down a structure fire Friday morning in a commercial building near Interstate 25 and Garden of the Gods Road.
Firefighters arrived at Western Forge's office building at 4617 Forge Road and found light smoke in an exterior metal collection hopper that holds metal shavings and dust.
The fire was quickly contained and under control. Firefighters used dry chemicals to put out the fire, since specialized equipment located on the site could not be doused with water, said fire department spokesman Capt. Brian Vaughan.
No injuries were reported.
