Large flames and heavy smoke flared up early Saturday morning at an inn in downtown Limon.
Limon police told Gazette news partner KKTV that several agencies-- in total an estimated 75 police officers, firefighter and emergency medical responders-- were at the hotel working to put out the flames.
The hotel's seven guests were quickly evacuated. No one was injured.
By 8:30 a.m., the fire was contained and crews were mopping up hot spots. Sgt. Russell Lengel with the Limon Police Department told KKTV that they believe the fire started in the north end of the hotel, which he described as u-shaped, in a building where the pool used to be located. The building was already closed for renovations.
The police department thanked the community for their efforts, including one citizen who brought coffee and water to the first responders.
