Folk singer-songwriter Dar Williams will perform at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College in "An Evening with Dar Williams" on Feb. 27.
Williams focuses her music on everyday challenges of ordinary people, especially women. Her top songs, according to Apple Music, include "Wild Mountain Thyme," "When I Was a Boy" and "As Cool As I Am."
She has toured with artists including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joan Baez, Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin and Patty Griffin. Over a two-decade career, she has released 10 studio albums - the latest is "Emerald" - and has penned four books, including her latest, released last month, "What I Found In A Thousand Towns." It is described by Utah Public Radio as a traveling musician's "deeply personal and hopeful message about the potential of America's lively and resilient communities."
