Spade, the three-legged jogging dog, is the spokesdog for The Jogging Dog blog.

Go jogging or strolling with your on-leash doggies at the Dog Jog in Cottonwood Creek Park on Aug. 19. Bright and early starting at 7:30 a.m. It benefits the busy National Mill Dog Rescue, which just rescued dog number 12,000. Dog Jog has funny contests for costumes, best dog kisser, best trick and best canine singer. Go online and pay the $35 adult, $20 for youth event registration fee before Friday, it's $5 higher the day of, milldogrescue.org/2017-dog-jog. There's also a free phone app ResQWalk for donations for miles walked all year.

Living burlesque legends will alight on our fair city during the Golden Legend Champion Challenge, Friday through Sunday at The Gold Room, 18 S. Nevada Ave. They'll perform and compete alongside local and international burlesque and boylesque performers. There's Camille 2000, known as the "Cosmic Queen" of burlesque, who started in the 1960s, and "Pearl Divine," who began burlesque in the mid-1970s. Those legends will be paired with up-and-coming performers through a mentoring program and strut their stuff at the competition Saturday. Info: peaksandpasties.com.
