Colorado Springs topped Denver, New York City, Las Vegas, Nev., and many more urban areas as one of the best big cities to live in, says a Monday report by credit website WalletHub.

Colorado Springs was named the fifth-best big city to live in and one of the most affordable places to live.

Virginia Beach, Va., took the top spot, followed by Seattle, Pittsburgh and San Diego.

WalletHub compared 62 cities with populations above 300,000 using several factors: affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety. Within those dimensions, WalletHub used 50 related, weighted metrics to make the evaluations.

It's not the first time Colorado Springs has been recognized as a great place to live. U.S. News & World report ranked the Springs in its top 15 best U.S. places this year.

WalletHub's top 10 big cities to live in are:

1. Virginia Beach, Va.

2. Seattle

3. Pittsburgh

4. San Diego

5. Colorado Springs

6. Austin, Texas

7. Minneapolis

8. Las Vegas

9. Denver

10. San Jose, Calif.
