DENVER — Colorado officials are promising to help about 2,000 licensed child care centers comply with new rules that will require healthy meals and playground time.

The new rules also will ban sugary drinks and limit television viewing. About 100,000 children will be affected statewide.

The Denver Post reports (http://tinyurl.com/qzqzvug ) some child care centers are worried the new rules will put them out of business.

The new licensing rules were approved by the Colorado Board of Human Services and they will go into effect Feb.1.
