A brisk day didn't dissuade the Colorado Springs Switchbacks from honing and sharpening their soccer skills at the Pride Soccer Complex east of Colorado Springs. This professional team is gearing up for a brand new season.

Luke Vercollone is a player who's excited to get on the field and mix it up with someone other than his teammates, "Extremely, super eager to get going, just like the rest of the guys." Vercollone says the team is focusing on fitness, getting acclimated to the altitude and pushing each other hard in practice to get chemistry going on the field to get wins during the upcoming season.

Switchbacks player Samir Badr also talked about the growing chemistry after just a week of practice, "I think everyone understands their expectations, of the coach, of each other and what we are trying to accomplish this season."

The Colorado Springs Switchbacks will start their season on March 28 on the road in Austin, Texas. The team's first home game will be April 4 at 1 p.m. against Oklahoma City Energy FC, at Sand Creek Stadium, which is the home of the Switchbacks.
