Police arrest two in BB gun disturbance

Colorado Springs police arrested a man and a woman Sunday on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and third degree assault when a disturbance involving a BB gun got out of control.
 
Lita Jackson, 30, and David Laffler, 37, were arrested on the 2200 block of E. Dale Street afterofficers responded to a call of a disturbance at 5:42 p.m., police said.
 
Initial reports said a man had struck another man with a handgun, according to a police news release. Upon arrival, officers say they discovered Laffler had allegedly threatened and hit a man with a BB gun, causing the victim to fear for his life.
 
Police detained Laffler and Jackson, who was found to be in possession of a real .25 caliber handgun. She was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
 
Laffler was found to be a convicted felon and was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and assault.
 
Police said no one was injured during the altercation.
