Colorado Springs Fire Department crews quickly contained a grass fire that began around 3 p.m. near Brady Road, off Constitution Avenue.

Brisk winds expanded the grass fire to an area covering approximately one acre, public information officer Sunny Smaldino said.

By 3:30 p.m., firefighters had contained the flames and were beginning mop up operations.

Multiple CSFD crews were at the scene and Brady Road was temporarily closed until fire personnel cleared the area. No injuries or damages to nearby homes were reported.
