Colorado Springs police arrested a man Tuesday as the main suspect in the armed robbery of the Academy Bank branch in the eastern part of the city.
Paris Toler-Anderson, 26, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery after he allegedly held up the Academy Bank on 1650 Space Center Dr. at gunpoint Monday, according to a CSPD news release.
Detectives developed significant leads and conducted an overnight surveillance operation, spotting Toler-Anderson exiting a business on the 200 block of Circle Drive around 4 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and an executed search warrant recovered numerous items of evidence linking him to the robbery, according to the news release.
Barbara Miller, CSPD spokesperson, said police could not state exactly how much money was stolen from the bank, but over 75 percent of the cash was recovered.
According to court records, Toler-Anderson has an open case for an assault last November and a mandatory restraining order violation on the same month, both in Colorado Springs.
