We're excited about a big race weekend in Manitou Springs, with the Pikes Peak Ascent on Saturday and Pikes Peak Marathon on Sunday. Here are a few quick facts to keep you in the know:

- For Saturday’s Ascent, a total of 1,940 runners are registered.

- 865 runners are participating in the Ascent for the first time

- 63 percent of the Ascent field is male.

- Last year, 1,758 runners started the Ascent.

- The starting line for both races is under the banner in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue next to Memorial Park.

Note: The Pikes Peak Ascent starts at 7 a.m. Saturday when the first wave of runners takes off from downtown Manitou Springs. The Pikes Peak Marathon starts at 7 a.m. Sunday.
