An early morning crash took out a power pole off Powers Boulevard and repairing the damage could tangle traffic for much of the day Saturday.

Colorado Springs police were called to the crash on southbound Powers near Galley Road just before 2 a.m. Police say a single car slammed into a pole, taking out power in the area and disabling several stop lights.

Colorado Springs Utilities had crews working to restore power. As part of that effort, a lane of Powers from Galley to Palmer Park Boulevard would be closed for much of the day.

Officers gave no word on whether the driver would face charges.
