Colorado Springs police are looking for a man who tried to rob his in-laws before trashing their house and threatening one of them with a knife.

Officers were called to 1515 Eagle View Dr. shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday to investigate the incident. The victim said that her brother-in-law, who is a known heroin user, came to the home and demanded money.

The man became angry and "caused extensive damage" to the house before leaving with $40.

Police said the man also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
