Colorado Springs police responded to a call of shots fired shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday at Canon Elementary School on W. Cheyenne Road.

Sgt. Rick Bubacz  said at least three individuals were reported to have discharged firearms near the school but no injuries were reported. According to the police blotter, 11 rounds were fired and one went through one of the school's windows, causing damage.

"The reporting parties could not give a description of the suspects, but they did get a brief look of their vehicles," Bubacz said.

The vandals reportedly left in a silver Volkswagen Jetta and a red 90s-style Oldsmobile.

Bubacz said police have no information on what caused the act of vandalism and no suspects have been identified.
