More than 100 people attended a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening at the First Southern Baptist Church to give community support to the young lady who lost her immediate family as a result of Sunday night's triple homicide.

"Tonight is our way of saying we love you," Pastor Thomas Killgore said. "All of us are here because we're sorry."

The 16-year-old girl is reportedly a victim of sexual assault, according to Cañon City law enforcement. A press release issued by the Cañon City Police Department states that the teen ran from her home to a neighbor's house and the neighbor called 911 Sunday night. The girl was treated at St. Thomas More Hospital, received some counseling from a victim's advocate and is with relatives, Cañon City Police Chief Paul Schultz said.

CCPD arrested Jaacob Vanwinkle, 31, without incident at the home. Vanwinkle is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to be formally charged. He faces three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of sexual assault charges and kidnapping.
