The National Weather Service in Pueblo issued a blizzard watch for northern El Paso County from midnight Saturday through Sunday afternoon.

“Right now, we’re looking at snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, but the main problem is going to be winds – north winds 20 to 35 miles an hour with gusts of 50 miles an hour,” meteorologist Kyle Mozley said Friday.

“You combine that wind with the snow, and you’re going to get excessive drifting, several feet of drifting snow,” he said.

The storm will produce whiteout conditions, he said.

“You’re going to have really poor visibility because of the blowing snow,” he said.
