The Army has tabbed a new two-star general to lead Fort Carson.

Maj. Gen. Paul LaCamera will take over as commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, the Army announced on Tuesday. He will take over for Maj. Gen. Joseph Anderson, who has led the post since November 2011.

The Army did not announce a date for the transition.

LaCamera most recently served as deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C. He spent most of his career with the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, and commanded the unit from 2005 through 2007.

He was also awarded the Silver Star, the Army’s third-highest honor for valor in combat.
