WORCESTER, Mass. - Air Force and Holy Cross skated to a 2-2 overtime tie in an Atlantic Hockey Association game, Friday, Dec. 6, at the Hart Center.

Holy Cross' Castan Sommer gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead at the 6:12 mark of the first period. Matt Vidal's shot was saved and created a flurry in front. Sommer pushed the puck under the pads of Jason Torf for the game's first goal. Late in the period, Jason Fabian drew a penalty on Holy Cross' Ryan McGrath. With 59 seconds left, Fabian tied the score with a power-play goal. After Chad Demers won a faceoff in the offensive zone, Cole Gunner took a shot from the goal line and Fabian tipped it past Matt Ginn to tie the score.

The Crusaders regained the lead in the second period as Logan Smith scored with a slap shot from the top of the right circle. The Falcons tied the score midway through the second period. A.J. Reid and Max Birkinbine worked to gain possession behind the Crusader net. Reid took a shot that was saved and Mitch Torrel put back the rebound. His second of the season came at 12:29 of the second period.

"It was a hard fought game just as I thought it would be," Falcons coach Frank Serratore said. "We knew they would be a difficult team to play against and we were fairly difficult to play against as well. It was a game that we could have won, but we could have lost it as well."
