Icy road conditions in the Colorado Springs area prompted police to switch to accident alert status just before 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The slippery conditions continued just after 9 p.m. as snow continued to fall in the city and roads remained slick. Emergency scanner traffic was busy all evening with reports of fender benders and cars sliding off roadways.
The National Weather Service expects up to three inches of snow accumulation in Colorado Springs overnight with another inch possible before noon on Monday.
Lows could reach the high single digits overnight with Monday's high predicted to be about 20 degrees.
